Tennessee Aquarium

Tennesee Aquarium Memberships are a great value. The Butterfly Garden and touch tanks were a favorite of our family. There are parks and places to eat with in walking distance.  When our children were younger we didn't feel like we had to stay all day to get our moneys worth.  We could just come back again another day.  We bought our family pass with our "grandma money".  That is holiday or birthday money from our grandparents that we choose to purchase a family membership to use all year long. We would choose one family pass each year. These came in very handy during school breaks or holidays.  Now that the children are older I like to get the family pass, plus one.  Many places offer the extra guest price for a nanny or grandparent.  We have purchased the Tennessee Aquarium yearly family pass (and we don't even live in Tennessee) the Atlanta Zoo yearly family pass and a yearly pass from a local Science Museum that is no longer open. Each time it has cost our family of 5 or 6 about $100-$125. One advantage to having the extra (possible non-family member) addition to our pass was that we could bring a friend. It was great to take a friend on our adventures especially if it was someplace they had never been before. A big surprise to me was that often times over 1/2 of the price was tax- deductable.  Yes, we would receive a form during tax time with a portion of our membership being tax-deductable.
