Chickens and Eggs

I wanted to post this as a way to consider saving money with out a coupon. My mom is now "the chicken lady".  She has 8 chickens which lay some very tasty eggs.   There are a lot of things to take into consideration before bringing home those cute little chicks, such as the cost of building a coup, the time involved in caring for the chickens, what to do with your chickens once they no longer lay eggs? I would consider it an expensive hobby.  But if you already have an old shed or structure that may work, don't travel much or mind cleaning up the coup, chickens may be for you.  They are very entertaining and my mom's chickens let her hold them and even do a few tricks, such as jumping for Cheerio's.
